Huawei Mate 20 will have 6.9 inch AMOLED screen production from Samsung?

Huawei is reportedly working with Samsung Display for its newest smartphone, Mate 20.

According to reports, Huawei Mate 20 will use 6.9-inch AMOLED panel production Samsung Display.

Reported by GSM Arena on Wednesday (20/06/2018), a recent news mention Huawei has ordered 6.9-inch AMOLED panel to Samsung Display for a device that will be released in the fourth quarter of this year or first quarter 2019.

Huawei is known to always release the Mate series in that period, so the screen ordered to the Samsung Display is estimated for Mate 20.

Huawei Mate flagship series are usually present in the fourth quarter of 2018. Huawei Mate 10, for example, announced in October 2017, and Mate 9 in November 2016.

Huawei party has not provided confirmation regarding this report. But if true, then the size of 6.9 inches will make Huawei Mate 20 becomes the flagship smartphone with the largest screen.

In comparison, the Galaxy Note 9 is reported to have a 6.38-inch screen and the latest iPhone 6.46 inches.

Huawei's decision to carry a large screen size is judged to be related to its position in the Chinese market.

Chinese consumers tend to prefer smartphones with big screens compared to other countries.

Huawei currently leads the Chinese market and wants to maintain that status, so the company must be able to keep its customers.
